food drive train made of boxes

Rockfish Elementary is proud to announce the incredible success of our recent food drive, demonstrating the power of community and generosity. Together, our students, families, and local partners collected an impressive 2,392 food items to support those in need during the holiday season.

A highlight of the drive was the remarkable contribution made in a single day when our students brought in 903 items! Our Fifth Graders also rose to the challenge, leading the way with 702 items collected.

Through this effort, our school was able to provide complete Thanksgiving meals for 40 families in our school community.  The remaining items were donated to a local church to replenish their food pantry, extending the impact of our drive even further.

This effort was made possible with the support of our generous community partners:

     • 17 turkeys were donated by the Town of Hope Mills.

     • 15 turkeys were purchased thanks to an anonymous donor.

     • 8 food boxes were provided by the local Short Stop convenience store.

We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our families and partners who went above and beyond to make a difference. Together, we showed the true spirit of giving and the strength of our Rockfish Elementary community.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful cause. Your generosity has brightened the holiday season for so many, and we couldn't be prouder!

You Rock!
