Our Philosophy

The goal of Rockfish Elementary School is to provide a safe and orderly environment where all students can achieve maximum success and a quality education.  Since student behavior influences student success, all students must know, understand, and model appropriate behaviors.


School Schedule

Office Hours…………………7:20 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Students may arrive on campus………7:20 a.m.
Breakfast………………………..7:20 – 7:40 a.m.
Warning Bell …………………………….7:40 a.m.
Instructional Day Begins ……………….7:45 a.m.
K – 1st Grade Dismissal ……………….2:25 p.m.
2nd – 5th   Grade Dismissal …………..2:27 p.m.

Information for Student Registration at Rockfish Elementary

Kindergarten Registration

Bring the following information:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Required Immunizations – visit this link for more information
  • Proof of Residency (latest utility bill )
  • Parent or Guardian ID
  • We will need your child’s Kindergarten Health Assessment. If you do not have it completed at this time, we will have forms available for you to take to your child’s health care provider.

Registration for 1st – 5th Grades

  •  If coming from another Cumberland County School you will need the last report card and withdrawal forms.
  •  If enrolling from out of state, you will need: birth certificate, shot record, social security card, proof of residency, and the last report card.

Attendance Policy

Attendance at Rockfish Elementary is an integral part of our school day.
Being on time, and in school every day can greatly enhance your child’s educational progress.  Here at Rockfish our goal is to maintain or increase our attendance rate to 96%.  Visit here for attendance policy.

AIG Program

Cumberland County Schools is dedicated to providing gifted students the opportunity to become independent learners and decision makers who recognize their potential and responsibilities in a changing global society. For parents who have students entering the AIG Program this year or returning students please follow this link for additional information. 


Volunteer Information

If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer, you are required to complete a Volunteer Application.  The application can be obtained by visiting this link to the School Mentor and Volunteer Program page.  When filling out the form, you must provide your complete 9 digit SS number.  If the entire number is not submitted, the application will not be processed.  In order to be a parent volunteer for any reason, an application must be processed and approved. 


SIT Meetings

School Improvement Team (SIT) meetings are monthly from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the second Monday from September 10, 2018, to May 13, 2019.  Since November’s date is a holiday, the SIT meeting will take place on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 2:45 p.m.
