The goal of Rockfish Elementary School is to provide a safe and orderly environment where all students can achieve maximum success and a quality education.  Since student behavior influences student success, all students must know, understand, and model appropriate behaviors.

 Student Health Insurance 
Voluntary Membership in a group accident insurance program is made available to students each school year. Participation in the plan is voluntary and made available through school publications annually and parents are urged to purchase it for their children. If you do not already have accident insurance for your child, Cumberland County Schools has contracted with QBE Insurance Group to offer coverage, which you may purchase at their website anytime during the school year by visiting

  • Voluntary student accident insurance is “primary” insurance, meaning it pays even if you have other medical insurance.
  • While you may purchase coverage anytime during the year, the cost will be the same.
  • Cumberland County Schools provides limited secondary accident insurance coverage for high and middle school athletes.  Primary coverage for your child is still recommended.
  • Cumberland County Schools general liability insurance excludes student medical expenses unless it can be shown that the school system or district acted negligently.
  • Voluntary Student Accident Insurance is recommended by school board policy.

 Information for Student Registration at Rockfish Elementary 
Kindergarten Registration

Bring the following information:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Required Immunizations  / Requisitos De Vacunas En Carolina Del Norte
  • Proof of Residency (latest utility bill )
  • Parent or Guardian ID
  • We will need your child’s Kindergarten Health Assessment. If you do not have it completed at this time, we will have forms available for you to take to your child’s health care provider.

Registration for 1st – 5th Grades

  •  If coming from another Cumberland County School you will need the last report card and withdrawal forms.
  •  If enrolling from out of state, you will need: birth certificate, shot record, social security card, proof of residency, and the last report card.
 Attendance Policy 
Attendance at Rockfish Elementary is an integral part of our school day.
Being on time, and in school every day can greatly enhance your child’s educational progress.  Here at Rockfish our goal is to maintain or increase our attendance rate to 96%. Read more…

Cumberland County Schools is dedicated to providing gifted students the opportunity to become independent learners and decision makers who recognize their potential and responsibilities in a changing global society. For parents who have students entering the AIG Program this year or returning students please follow the link for additional information. 
 Volunteer Information 
If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer, you are required to complete a Volunteer Application.  The application can be obtained by clicking on the link provided.  When filling out the form, you must provide your complete 9 digit SS number.  If the entire number is not submitted, the application will not be processed.  In order to be a parent volunteer for any reason, an application must be processed and approved. 
 SIT Meetings 
School Improvement Team (SIT) meetings are monthly from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the second Monday from September 11, 2017 to June 11, 2018.
